Top 3 Areas to Rent an Airbnb in Irvine, CA

Irvine is a city of 308,000 residents in the southern portion of California’s Orange County. There’s plenty to do around the county, so let’s explore some popular attractions and consider where to rent an Airbnb while you’re here.

Northern Irvine

The northern and northwestern neighborhoods of Irvine are closest to nearby cities you’ll want to visit. We’re talking about areas around Bill Barber Memorial Park and Jamboree Road. Here, you’ll be 24 minutes from the Disneyland Resort, which includes Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. This is the biggest attraction in Orange County and for good reason. People dream of visiting Disneyland for the rides, the characters, and the general atmosphere.

Closer to Irvine is Santa Ana, which features the children’s museum, The Discovery Cube, and Bowers Museum. Those two attractions are close together, so you can spend part of the day at one and then visit the other.

Turtle Rock

The Turtle Rock area, near Turtle Rock Community Park, is close to the University of California, Irvine campus. Perhaps you’d like to check out their science library or see if the university is hosting other attractions during your visit. Or, maybe you or your child is considering attending UCI and you want to check it out. Well, here’s your opportunity to do so.

This area is also close to the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, which features 300 acres of wetland in the San Diego Creek floodplain. You can enjoy 12 miles of trails and watching over 200 species of birds. If you like getting out in a largely-untouched natural environment, this is a wonderful place to visit.

East Irvine

While visiting Irvine, this area may feel like it’s in the southern part of the city. That’s because the northbound Highway 5 orients southeast by northwest here. An Airbnb in this part of the city puts you close to some enjoyable attractions.

First on this list is the Irvine Spectrum Center, a popular place where locals and tourists enjoy dining, shopping, and movies. You’ll find a Cheesecake Factory, Cold Stone Creamery, Dave and Busters, Luna Grill, and many other restaurants. For entertainment, there’s a carousel, a Ferris Wheel, the Regal Irvine Spectrum Cinema, Irvine Improv, and The Escape Game escape room. Shops include Barnes & Noble, Anthropologie, Champs Sports, Chocolate Bash, The Game Chest, and yes, far more.

Also in this area you’ll find the Pretend City Children’s Museum. This place is exactly what it sounds like, a pretend city where children can pretend to do adult jobs and take on grown-up responsibilities. Kids love pretending what their lives will be like in the future, and this place lets them do so on a grand scale.

Any Neighborhood

Of course, there’s more to do around the city, and no matter which neighborhood you rent an Airbnb in, we think you’ll enjoy these attractions.

Irvine is a fantastic place for museums. We already mentioned a few in and nearby, but we’d like to highlight three others. Also, we encourage you to check Google for others.

The Marconi Automotive Museum displays classic cars, motorcycles, and more in a collection worth $30 million. Interested in not just cars, but airplanes? Then visit Lyon Air Museum. You can find more than airplanes there, in fact, as they also display old cars and a variety of military vehicles. Finally, we recommend the Museum of Woman, which explores prosperous cultures that women have led.

Irvine is also a prime destination if you enjoy golf, as there are a handful of clubs in the area. These include Oak Creek Golf Club and Driving Range, Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course, Strawberry Farms Golf Club, and Shady Canyon Golf Club. Enjoy a classy day with friends on the green, then have a meal with some wine in a golf-club restaurant. We encourage you to check the websites for these courses to decide which you’d like to visit.

If you live in the area, there’s a decent chance you own a boat or RV. After all, Irvine is near the coast, where you can take your boat out on the water, and a great place to launch an RV trip from. However, most neighborhoods don’t allow these large vehicles to be parked on the street.

To keep your boat or RV safe and ready when you need it, rent a space or unit from us at RV Storage Depot. You can do so online, on the phone, or in person.
