8 Restaurants in Altamonte Springs, FL You Have to Visit

Jon Fesmire | January 14, 2022 @ 12:00 AM

Altamonte Springs is a small city of 46,000 residents just 20 minutes north of Orlando, Florida. One great thing about our city is the sheer number of amazing and unique restaurants.

We’re going to cover eight of our favorites for you.

Antica Pizzeria

The first but not the only Italian restaurant on our list, Antica Pizzeria & Market features home made meals and desserts, crafted from scratch with locally-sourced ingredients. It’s also the winner of the 2021 Orlando Foodie Award for Best Pizza in Orlando.

The menu includes antipasto italiano, bruschetta, meatballs, eggplant parmesan, salads, lasagne, rigatoni, ravioli ricotta, and pizzas with red or white sauce. For dessert, indulge in tiramisu, chocolate mousse, or cannoli.  Wash it down with some beer, wine, a fountain drink, espresso drink, or iced tea.

Cafe Murano

Here’s the second Italian restaurant on our list. What can we say? The Italian food is good here. Cafe Murano features not only a delicious menu, but entertainment as well during dinner every Friday and Saturday night from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for brunch.

Check out the restaurant’s website to see their lunch, dinner, brunch, and event menus. You’ll find appetizers like calamari, stuffed dates, and stuffed meatballs. Salads include caprese, steak salad, and others. For your main meal, enjoy brick oven pizzas, a variety of pastas including ravioli, lasagna, and spaghetti & meatballs, specials like smoked sausage and shrimp risotto, and chicken rollatini.

The Crepevine

Now we come to French crepes with an American flare at The Crepevine. These include savory and dessert crepes. Savory ingredients include bacon, eggs, cheese, veggies, turkey, ham, hummus, chicken, roast beef, and much more. Dessert crepes can be stuffed with banana, nutella, strawberries, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, almonds, more. Check the site for their amazing menu.

Kobe Japanese Steakhouse

You’ll want to make a reservation to dine at this popular restaurant, and keep in mind it’s one of the more expensive on the list, but you're paying for the entertainment of your chef cooking your food in front of you as well as the food itself.

The entrees at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse include filet mignon, chicken, shrimp, seasonal vegetables, salmon, tuna, and lobster. You can get a variety of sushi rolls and sushi dinners. If you’re in the mood for it, imbibe mai-tais, pina coladas, margaritas, beer, and sake. For non-alcoholic options, there are a variety of delicious teas and boba drinks. Also, don’t fret if you’d rather not dine indoors, the restaurant has pick up and delivery options.

Metro Diner

Metro Diner serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. On the menu, you’ll find a lot of delicious dinner meals. The list is so long you’ll need to click the dropdown arrows on the site’s menu page to see all the starters, burgers, entrees, desserts, and more. These include herb roasted chicken, cinnamon apple waffles, cheese fries, fried chicken and waffles, lemon pepper salmon, philly cheese steaks, chicken caesar salad, and plenty more. They even have gluten friendly options.

Nonno's Italian Restaurant

We’ve arrived at the third and final Italian restaurant on our list, Nonno's Italian Restaurant which has branches in Altamonte and Orlando. We hope you’ll try this one, too.

Nonno’s is a great place for antipasti like bruschetta, caponata, and calamari, a variety of pasta dishes, flatbreads, eggplant dishes, and more. Check the various menus on the site for details.

Santiago's Bodega | Altamonte Springs

If you’re interested in the variety of Spanish foods out there, then visit Santiago's Bodega. This charming restaurant was inspired by the main character of Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea, Santiago. Chandeliers shine overhead, hung from rafters, and paintings adorn the walls.

The menu includes tapas like beef carpaccio, yellowfin tuna ceviche, mozzarella burrata, lamb patties, shrimp and chorizo, and chicken skewers, various creative salads, soups, and more.

Tibby's New Orleans Kitchen

Get a taste of New Orleans in Tibby's New Orleans Kitchen.  Whether you come in for lunch, dinner, brunch, or happy hour, you can enjoy their Louisiana cuisine. Dishes include shrimp and alligator cheesecake, boudin rolls, fried green tomatoes, chicken and andouille filé gumbo, shrimp creole, bienville salad, chicken and waffles, plus po boys, cajun baskets, and so much more. If what comes with your meal isn’t quite enough, order a side of fries, dirty rice, or andouille cheddar grits.
